Abstract
The paper responds to the theme of disruptive sustainability by exploring how potential impacts of climate change could challenge the limits of dominant strategic management theory, notwithstanding the power of existing theory to help firms navigate strategic shifts. It highlights the extent to which the strategy field has evolved in a stable empirical context, despite its attention to dynamism, and explores theoretical and empirical development that may be called for in the event of pervasive new pressures and impacts.
