Abstract
This paper endeavors to examine the influence of stakeholders on the technological decisions made by bus operators during the transition to renewable energy. In doing so, it integrates the principles of Resource Dependence Theory to address deficiencies in Stakeholder Theory. A matched-pairs case study approach is employed in this research, which pairs two major bus operators in a single city in the UK. Qualitative data is gathered through various methods to ensure the validity of the results. The findings of this research may enhance stakeholder management practices in business and facilitate sustainable development. Additionally, this research aims to improve Stakeholder Theory by identifying salient stakeholders and balancing their interests, thereby contributing to future studies.
