Abstract
The global adoption and popularity of hybrid work, a form of workplace transformation that combines remote and in-person work, has been brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. This work model presented opportunities such as flexibility and autonomy but also challenges for leaders and employees in relation to employee connection and engagement. This study explores how employee engagement can be regenerated in the context of hybrid work. A qualitative study of a multinational organisation revealed that three key factors contribute to fostering employee engagement in this context. These include digital transformation, a care-focused workplace environment and inclusive leadership approaches. The study findings advance our understanding of employee engagement in the hybrid work context, including digital transformation, leadership practices and workplace culture. These findings also have practical implications for leaders and organisations who aim to regenerate employee engagement whilst managing the challenges of hybrid work. .
