Biography

Professor Julie Davies, Director, MBA Health, Global Business School for Health, University College London, julie.a.davies@ucl.ac.uk @juliedaviesuk Julie is responsible for the MBA Health and EMBA at GBSH. She earned a PhD in strategic management at Warwick University and completed an MBA and an MA in Education. She also has undergraduate degrees in law and in modern languages and experience as an executive coach. Julie is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Higher Education Academy, and Association of University Administrators. Julie is also an Associate Editor of Human Resource Development Review and has published in journals such as Academy of Management Learning & Education; Employee Relations; Gender, Work & Organization; Journal of Business Research; Journal of Small Business Management; Stress and Health as well as Nature Index and the LSE Impact of Social Science blog. Julie has completed projects on workforce redesign in acute services in a rural general hospital and is currently researching early pregnancy endings in the workplace and transitions into Advanced Clinical Practitioner roles. Previously, Julie was seconded to the change management team for the opening of Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and she worked in human resources in family and community services, oncology, paediatrics, maternity services, and facilities. Julie was Deputy Chief Executive of the Chartered Association of Business Schools and since 1995 has taught on the Open University’s MBA. She is currently a trustee of Kirkwood Hospice.
