Abstract
Nowadays, organisations are encouraging a less centralised organisational structure hence many institutions encourage employees to take on informal leadership roles. However, rarely do we examine how informal leadership influences the formal leaders’ emotions and behaviour. This study aims to address this gap by examining parallel emotions and their corresponding behavioural outcomes from formal leaders’ perspective, especially interpersonal behaviours targeted at the informal leader. We intend to conduct a few experimental studies and a survey. This study aims to contribute to leadership studies especially on the front of informal leadership (i.e., the interpersonal outcomes of informal leadership), and dark leadership (i.e., the contextual predictors and affective mechanisms of dark leadership).
