Abstract
Purpose The purpose of this study is to create a tentative/theoretical analytical model to study organizational learning in relations to business meetings effectiveness.
Design/methodology/approach In a conceptual and analytical manner, the authors connect the field of organizational learning and strategy and communication to growing literature of business meetings in organizations.
Findings The authors develop nine propositions related to the organizational learning and analyzing what could be regarded as effectiveness in business meetings.
Practical implications People chairing business meetings should be aware that both opportunities and risks are associated with communicating in meetings. Connection to business strategy, capability, industry success factors are strongly connected to how organizational learning can take place. Deployed in the right way, such communication can be valuable effectivities.
Original/value This article introduces organizational learning perspective to business strategy, institutionalization, and shows implications it can have to research in business meetings.
