Abstract
Background
Based on the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) Theory, AI dependence can impact AI crafting, mediated by Thriving at Work (TAW), as a motivational state of the joint experience of vitality and learning. Considering the ongoing transformational change triggered by artificial intelligence (AI), the inherent possibility of gain cycles according to the JD-R Theory provides potential for the successful long-term integration of AI.
Purpose
This research project aims to investigate the mechanisms of the effect of AI dependence on AI crafting by considering personal resources.
Methodology
A survey among employees who have ongoing, daily interactions with AI will be conducted.
Results
The empirical study will answer the research question: How does AI dependence affect employees’ AI crafting?
Contribution
This research project contributes to the integration of TAW with AI research and provides useful insights for organisations to support their employees in successfully integrating AI into their daily work.
