Abstract
Background
Based on the multilevel Job Demands-Resources Theory, the team members’ Thriving at Work (TAW), as the joint experience of vitality and learning, can be influenced by the team leader’s TAW by affecting their job demands and resources.
Purpose
This research project aims to identify the underlying mechanisms, i.e. conditions, and their interplay. Therefore, the research question is: How does the interplay of job demands and resources affect the effect of Leader-TAW on Member-TAW?
Methodology
A mixed-method approach will be used to conduct a fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis.
Results
The conditions and their interplay affecting the relationship between Leader-TAW and Member-TAW will be identified.
Contribution
This research contributes to the call for more multilevel and team research in the context of TAW, as well as to leadership research by highlighting TAW as a driver of leadership behaviour with an ambivalent effect on team members.
