Abstract
Social sustainability in healthcare remains underdeveloped compared to the environmental and economic pillars. Positioned at the intersection between healthcare and sustainability management, the research aims to understand the main dimensions of interest when assessing and evaluating social sustainability within the healthcare setting. A validated multidimensional framework, by applying the theoretical lens of Service Logic, will be provided. The framework will support decision-making processes by evaluating social sustainability across macro (system), meso (organisation), and micro (technologies) levels. A mixed-methods approach is applied, starting with a scoping literature review, followed by the application of the Nominal Group Technique for the validation phase. The framework is further applied to empirical case studies, incorporating Analytic Hierarchy Process for prioritization. Preliminary findings highlight accessibility, workforce policies, and digital transformation as critical yet inconsistently evaluated factors. By fostering value co-creation among stakeholders, this framework provides a structured approach to embedding social sustainability in healthcare governance.
