Abstract
This study provides a Systematic Literature Review analysing the following question: which policies support rural entrepreneurs and what have been their effects? This study answers the growing call for the contextualization of entrepreneurship studies. The analysis also compiles practical recommendations for rural entrepreneurs, especially regarding the importance of investing in human capital and communication with public entities. Several authors highlight evidence-based policy recommendations such as the importance of coordination among different bodies, the need to reduce bureaucratic pressure and to establish flexible scoring systems that are aligned with policy priorities.
