Abstract
This development paper is based off a pilot study conducted in preparation for a full study. Personnel working in the construction and built environment industry of Singapore was the focus of this study. A quantitative approach was adopted by the researcher and 61 valid responses were collected through online distribution of surveys to the project managers. In this study, the relationships between number of years of working experience, 7 different Project Management Knowledge Areas of the PMBOK® and Project Success were investigated. The results from hypotheses tests showed that project scope management, project time management, and project quality management had no significant relationship with project success. The results from linear regression analysis showed that working experience is not a direct predictor of project success, whereas project scope management, project time management and project risk management are direct predictors of project success.
