Abstract
The use of early warning notice (EWN) process for risk and opportunity management by Crossrail1 was differentiating and inimitable and credited with value creation. The aim of the qualitative case study was to determine the effectiveness of Crossrail1's EWNs in enhancing the chances of successful delivery of Crssrail1 project, on tie, within budget and specified quality. Data was collected from eighty participants through face-to-face indinvidual and focus group interviews using indepth semi-structured open-eded questions over two phases. The findings revealed that EWNs were effective and differentiating against competitors through through value creation.
The contribution of the study is threefold, to informacademia, policy and practice of the necessity to emplo such organisational process for successful delivery of infrastructure megaprojects, identify the specific processand procedure required for differentiationand value creation on megaprojects and to bridge the existing gap in knowledge on this topic with this revelation.
