Abstract
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) plays a key role in global energy markets due to its vast oil and gas reserves, contributing 30% of total exports. It aims to increase gas production from 3.2 million to 5 million barrels per day by 2030 while committing to sustainability through initiatives like the Paris Agreement and Net Zero 2050. The UAE’s Energy Strategy 2050 allocates AED 600 billion for a sustainable energy mix. Investments in renewable energy and technologies such as Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS), Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) address environmental concerns. Adopting global best practices can support policy and regulatory advancements. Strengthening the framework for advanced technologies, carbon pricing, and emissions control is essential. Enhancing regional cooperation will enable the UAE to lead the energy transition, ensuring economic growth and sustainability through innovation, policy reforms, and economic diversification.
