Abstract
The increasing globalization and technological advancements have led to greater involvement of global virtual teams (GVTs) in the workplace, imposing a substantial organisational transformation. These teams typically consist of members who are dispersed geographically and have diverse cultural backgrounds. The purpose of this study is to conduct a thorough examination of the current literature on the role of cultural diversity in GVTs. The methods involve using a topic modelling tool and a systematic literature review tool to identify major areas of research, gaps, and the most important topics. A developed theoretical model provides a systematic overview of the topic, emphasizes a central role of cultural intelligence (CQ) and guides future research, which should focus on investigating the relationships between these variables and examining the complex impact of cultural differences on GVTs using non-linear models.
