Abstract
AI is an emerging technology, especially in developing countries, where it is seen with praise and skepticism. This dual view is more visible in supply chain management, where managing resources using technology is high on the agenda of all firms. Saudi Arabia, which is the largest economy in the GCC, is a representative sample. Surveying 300 Saudi companies yields an interesting trend. They have a moderate knowledge of AI in supply chain optimization and are concerned about its impact and future expectations. They fear data integration, security and accessibility. So, AI, for them, is a double-edged sword
